Sports First Aid, Outdoor Pursuits Training in Mainland Scotland and Northern England
We are able to offer many forms of sports first aid courses and suitable training for many outdoor pursuits activities. Training is either available onsite for group and company bookings, or at our training facility. Below is a description of some of the training we have available.
Sports First Aid (7 hours class or blended 4 hours online/3 hours in class)
This is a UKA Category B approved course. Athletics groups or clubs can have the in class part of this course presented on their own premises. Contact us for competitive rates, the larger the group the better the rate.
This course covers basic first aid and is aimed at people who need first aid who work in various sports sectors. It not only covers basic first aid but also all the specific problems that arise in sports. Primary and secondary subjects are covered, including soft tissue injuries, head injuries, types of cuts, and many illnesses that could arise.
We can also offer courses specific to those in equestrian and cycling activities.
Outdoor Pursuits 16 Hour First Aid (16 hours in class or Blended – 8 hours online, 8 hours in class).
This course is also designed to meet the requirements laid down by many outdoor pursuits as it covers primary and secondary care and adapted to the outdoor world where the emergency services may be harder to access. We also offer a shorter course, Outdoor Pursuits 8 Hour First Aid, if that is all you require.
Activity First Aid Level 2 qualification (12 hours in class or 6 hours online, 6 hours in class). £100pp with discounts for groups
The purpose of this course is to provide the learner with the skills, knowledge and understanding of first aid to provide appropriate care and manage life-threatening conditions, illness and injuries sustained in an active environment. This is achieved through the understanding of the general duties, responsibilities and treatment principles of first aid.
All our first aid courses fully meet the latest UK and European Resuscitation Council Guidelines 2015 as per the HSE requirements. The content of this and all our courses has been independently certified as conforming to universally accepted Continuous Professional Development (CPD) guidelines and come with a Certified CPD Statement as well as a ProTrainings Certificate and for online courses an Evidence Based Learning statement.
We cover a wide area in Dumfries and Galloway including Stranraer, Newton Stewart, Dumfries, Wigtown, Kirkcudbright, Annan, Sanquhar, Lockerbie, Gretna, New Galloway, Dalbeattie, Langholm, Moffat, Castle Douglas, Lochmaben, Portpatrick and Whithorn. We also cover Glasgow, Edinburgh, Sterling, Perth, Dundee, Ayr, Falkirk and Aberdeen. We also cover Northern England and will happily take bookings in Carlisle, Newcastle, Penrith and surrounds.
